Samuel Mott of Wartling
« on: Sunday 25 August 19 16:46 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for a copy of Samuel's Will with a date of 3 December 1625.  Don't know if this is the date of death of probate.  I have searched in The Keep, National Archives and FamilySearch with no luck- but it is probably due to my hopelessness at searching that I haven't found anything.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Pheno

Yes, I found that one too but it is the wrong century - too late.  Thanks for looking though.

Sadly the 3 December 1625 record is for a grant of administration rather than a will.

Did that earlier Samuel have a son Aide?
I can give you the unregistered will of an Aide Mott of Wartling, 1643, Archdeaconry of Lewes.

Hi

Yes it is Aide/Ayde's father.  Thanks for the link - I already have his transcribed Will - and I am now trying to find his father's.
