Berwick-upon-Tweed marriages, 1811
« on: Saturday 31 August 19 21:34 BST (UK) »
I'm wondering whether these marriages are available to view at all.

According to England Select Marriages it's on Film 1469108.  But when I look on FamilySearch it doesn't appear to have been digitised.

Am I interpreting this correctly?

Unfortunately, yes. That film does not have a camera icon (locked or unlocked) next to it so the LDS have not yet digitised it.

I am sure that they will, in the fullness of time but, considering the enormous number of films from all over the globe that they have, it may take some time yet.
Even when they do digitise them, depending on the agreement with the record holders
(Northumberland Archives I should think for these) the images may not be viewable from home for non LDS members, though may be if you visit an LDS Family History Centre.

Berwick Holy Trinity and Berwick St. Mary are both available at Northumberland archives.

If you tell us who you are looking for I'd be happy to look up a marriage for you next week.

Thank you very much for your kind offer c-side.

It's the marriage of Joseph Atkinson and Elizabeth Nicholson on 25 Dec 1811 that I am interested in.

From my transcript:  Joseph Atkinson, bachelor, and Elizabeth Nicholson, spinster, married 25 Dec 1811 Wit:  Alexander McGregor and Thomas Burrell

Interesting that Joseph Atkinson, widower, married Jane Sanderson, spinster 13 Nov 1811 and witnesses were Joseph Atkinson and John Anderson.  Father and son both newly weds?

I am assuming they were by banns as there was not a notation about license.
