If you are going to buy a certificate I would go to GRO.Gov and get it online it is cheaper.

.

I think the Registrars now charge the same as GRO £11.  The copy from the Registrars office of a marriage MAY have original signatures, GRO will not.

Personally I would use GRO unless ordering a marriage that I hoped to get signatures on

Same price BUT the GRO offering is more likely to contain errors as it is a transcription.
Basic rule of research go to the original source where possible.

Some local town/city register office, mainly do a typed certificate copy of the visual sight of information in their registers - thus one may have ask if they do actual entry scanned copies of BMD events entered in their original book registers. - and  if so ? the cost may be more dearer to buy than a said normal typed certificate at £11 .

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
