Francis Henry Bayliss Fisher born 1899 Kings Norton
« on: Tuesday 03 September 19 16:55 BST (UK) »
I have Francis Henry Bayliss Fisher married to Eva Mabel Mansell.

On his marriage in 1919 at Water Orton his father was Francis Baylis(dec) butcher

His birth in 1899 GRO said mmn  Hunt.

I would like to find out his mother's first name.

I have not found him in any census

All I know is he died in 1933 somewhere near Water Orton.

If he was FHB Fisher - wasn't his father HB Fisher - not Bayliss?

Have you looked for a Fisher/Hunt marriage on freebmd

I can't readily see a marriage between Fisher and Hunt 1880-1900.

Just a thought that Hunt is the original maiden name of the mother, but that she had been widowed, and therefore the marriage to Francis Fisher would be under that surname.

Not explaining myself very well - I have an instance of Archbell marrying Ridehalgh, but their daughter's birth showed mmn = Ashworth.  Annie Ashworth first marries Thomas Ridehalgh, who dies.  Annie then married Herbert Archbell.  :)

Perhaps the only way to solve your problem is to purchase the 1899 birth certificate.  :-X

If you use GRO maiden name search for Fisher/Hunt births it throws up Cyril James 1902 and Wilfred Foster Thomas 1900 both Kings Norton RD

Both with parents 1911 but doubt it's connected to yours.  Just means there is a Hunt/Fisher marriage somewhere

It may be just coincidental but there is a large Hunt family a couple of doors away from the Elsons in 1901.
