Does anyone have access to the original Stansfield Parish Registers please
« on: Wednesday 04 September 19 10:17 BST (UK) »
Hi

Looking for access to the original parish registers -please The Suffolk Baptism Index show a William Cooper born 1724 to George and Elizabeth, with a baptism date of 1827. This is obviously wrong and I need to know if he was born in 1724 or 1824 as he is in my direct line and i need to know which is right.

Many thanks

David

Suffolk Baptism Index (part 3) shows William Cooper bp.2/8/1827 Stansfield, son of George and Elizabeth Ann - birth date given as 6 April 1824.

George (a farmer) and Elizabeth Ann baptised 4 children 2/8/1827:

George Simpson born 26/3/1820
Henry born 11/1/1822
William born 6/4/1824
Thomas born 15/8/1826.

I therefore think it's pretty obvious that this William was indeed born 1824 and the entry your refer to showing birth as 1724 was an error!
