Michael Grace

Looking the origin of Michael Grace and his wife Mary Burford who married 1717 in Hagbourne.

There’s a Michael Grace baptised Whitechapel but I think he’s the one who marries Mary Jackson 1722 in Stepney, so not the right one.

Does anyone know where the couple was born ?

The parish register entry (transcript only) simply says that they married on 3 October 1717 - no further details (although other entries do state where people were living at the time if they weren't 'local').

There's no baptism for either of them in Hagbourne either, sorry

And no burials for them.

Lots of records for other GRACEs in this parish - baptisms, marriages, and burials galore! - but nothing for your Michael and nothing for BURFORD.  Just the one marriage.

Should have said, I'm looking at the Oxfordshire Family History Society's transcripts for Hagbourne as published on their CD (ref OXF-WAL02).

Michael Grace is not a common name in England around that time, so why no likely candidate for him ? Also understand that not all parish registers are available online

The surname Grace was also common in Ireland, i think  But don’t think that he came over from another country
