I might have misunderstood but I wonder if Denise has a tree for Garret Fagan and someone may have a DNA connection - perhaps through Mary Ann Rafferty Svendsen.
It could be the other way round though as there is the story re Mary Ann in the children's home  :-\

The online tree for Garret Fagan shows a baptism 21st January 1867, Castlepollard.

I cannot see a birth for Garret which should be in Delvin district - there is a Thomas b 1870 .
