Awesome information.  Thank you so much.  This is wonderful to know - Lame Dog Road was their address in 1861 census.  So it is definitely them.

So it seems that Emma Newton aged 15 yrs living in the Orphanage Orphans Home Chapel Field St Peter Mancroft in 1871 would more than likely have been their daughter.  Good hunch on my part!!

Yes, definitely George's and Eliza's child.  The baptism in 1862 shows that the child was born in 1856.

The baptism record reads Emma Newton Scott parents George & Eliza

Could never find James Newton (father b. 1798) in 1841 census, although his wife Sarah (Neale) with children Sarah, George, Clement and Phillip Neal (Sarah's father) were clearly living in Heighham.
Thrilled to say have just found him in the Norwich Hospital at this time. He is listed as a Harnessmaker and aged rounded to 35yrs.  It was always annoying not to have him listed in 1841 census and his whereabouts was always a mystery. Solved  :)

Trying to find Emily's date of death.... previous:-

Alfred Withers married Emily Rowlands (Nolin) 21 May 1881.  Can find Alfred after this date.  In 1891 Emily Withers living with Charles J. Duck and family. In 1901 Emily stated as "wife". In 1904 Charles Duck dies and Emily Duck marries Thomas William Gotch in 1907.  Her mother Elizabeth Nolin/Rowlands dies in 1907 and Emily Gotch "daughter" is on the death cert.  Emily Gotch and Thomas William Gotch show together in 1911 census in 23 Median Road, Clapton.  But disappear after this.

I have tried to find Emily's death but no luck.  She could have been buried under any of the above names, I guess.  And the only Thomas W. Gotch I can find after this is a marriage in 1913 to a Sarah A. Dimond in Buckinghamshire.
