Trying to find James Alfred Harvey
« on: Monday 09 September 19 12:46 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for James Alfred Harvey bc 1867 Cold Norton Essex.
He married Mary Plunkett in 1906 in Westminster. She was b 1886/7. They had 3 children on the 1911 census, William, May and Lillian.
They are on the 1911 census living in Old Pye Street, Westminster, then the last sighting is in the workhouse 1913, the whole family is in there.
I cannot find a birth or baptism for James Alfred . Thought I had found him on the 1881 census with his family living in Cold Norton, father Charles, mother Emma, but it’s not him. This James has the wrong initial and appears to be on the 1911 census as an inmate in Essex.
Any help unravelling this family would be great .
I do not have the marriage certificate of James and Mary.
Thanks

What is the source for his birthdate being c1867?

He is James Harvey, 37, in 1911.  If right, born c1874.

Yes it is. I figured the workhouse record would have to be accurate, whereas he could make himself younger on the census as he was so much older than his wife. I have checked Essex for 1874 James Alfreds and couldn’t find him either .

No.  I think that James must be the one you found with father Charles.

Ok, this is odd. I am researching for a friend. Her father is the William Richard on the 1911 records.
She says her grandmother was Plunkett.
