I have been given the birth 25/5/1905  for a Nellie Hooper .On going on to   the BMD site the only one which  tallies was born in Truro Having looked in the 1911 census for hours cannot locate a Nellie Hooper born Truro aged 6 years . Any ideas or another pair of eyes would be most  appreciated. Thankyou  Eirwen

Woo were her parents? Have you discounted this 1911 Nellie?

The birth was registered in Truro but she was born in Philliegh, parents Thomas & Annie

The birth you mentioned above

Nellie Hooper June qtr 1905. Truro 5c 107. Mmn was Vincent. There is a 1939 register entry for her in Truro

Was Hooper her birth surname or her married name?

When and where did she die?

Whoever gave you her name and birthdate - what else do they know about her?

Thanking everyone for their assistance But if the father of this Nellie is a Thomas then this Nellie is not mine. The father of mine is a Henry James Hooper. Nellie died in 1955 in Surrey Again thanks for all your help

Don't forget that Nellie can be short for Helen, Ellen, Petronella, Danielle, Cornelia, Eleanor, Janelle, Chanelle or Noelia.

I'm sure we all want Alun to find his Hooper lady. Do keep searching.
I do fear that she might have been illegitimate, or there is some other big mystery surrounding her birth.
All the candidates now seem to have been eliminated?
