Look-Up Request: Frederick Parker Fryer, 1881 Census for Cheshire.
« on: Tuesday 10 September 19 16:27 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for Frederick Parker Fryer, b.1867 Chester, Cheshire. He is the base born son of either Hannah, Emma or Elizabeth Fryer.

I can't find an 1881 census entry for him on FamilySearch.org, and the entry on UKCensusOnline.com just says Scholar, with no other information. Does anyone have a copy of the 1881 census for Cheshire, who would look up who Frederick P. Fryer is living with please and where.?

Thank you.

Thank you Emeltom,

I had hoped he'd be living with family, but oh well, I'll check out the Bluecoat School, so at least I'll have an address. :)

The admission register for the school and other records are held at Cheshire Archives. The records may give further information on his parentage.

When he married in 1893 he said his father was John Fryer, farmer deceased or did he just make that up.

His second Christian name, Parker, may be a nod as to the name of the father.

@Gibel,

That's brilliant.! Thank you. I'll check the records with Cheshire Archives. :)

@amondG, there is a John Fryer in the family, but he was born in 1853, and I think died in 1892. He would have been Frederick's Uncle.

@Garstonite, I thought the best possibility was Hannah, as the oldest girl, but the younger sisters were within child bearing age in 1867, which is why it was so confusing, and there are no links to any of them having had a base born child. I will certainly be looking into the school records and hopefully make the connection.

Thank you for all your help.
