I just don't understand why I can't find their marriage record

I am trying to find the marriage record of my Great Grandpa Charles Jones born ABT 1888 • Farnham, Surrey, England
Death JUL 1960 • Ealing, Middlesex, England
He is supposed to have married Ellen Brown - who was from Milton in Kent

Is this the right one??

Birth JANUARY 1890 • Milton by Sittingbourne, Kent, England
Death APR 1963 • Ealing, Middlesex, England

This would match the birth record of my Grandpa who was born in Milton and Mothers surname was Brown

1914–1966
Birth 22 AUG 1914 • Milton, Kent, England
Death 19 JUN 1966 • Surrey, Northern, Surrey, England

I can find Charles on census 1939 showing as Married to
it is only showing him as being the only one living at 9 Baldwin Cottage though but does say married

Could the Nelly Jones actually say Visitor and not Sister as on the transcript.
