Looking for my grandfather Edward Joseph Byrne
« on: Wednesday 11 September 19 08:26 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for help to find my grandfather! I have been searching for him for a long time now and would love to be able to find more about him for my dad.

His name is Edward Joseph Byrne born Dec 1921, he married my nan Eileen Johnson on 9.6.1945 (I have the certificate). He moved to Liverpool from County Wicklow with his family. Mum (Catherine), Dad (John) and brother (Michael). They all lived in Chapel Road Liverpool 19 (1939 census). He along with his dad worked at Liverpool Docks.

Can anyone please advise me on what I can do now in my search?

Thanking you all in advance,

Andrea

Hi

Thank you so much for your message!

Yes he and my nan split when my father was 18 months old and he never saw him or his family again.  I would love to know if he is still alive and also if any of his family are.  Both myself and my father have done a DNA test but we don't have any leads on this side of the family.  The Byrne surname is extremely common in County Wicklow where Edward Joseph was from.

Many thanks and I really appreciate you messaging me.

Andrea

There is a brief tree for Edward Joseph b 13 December 1921 (amended y o b)
There are no parents and birth fives Cork/Wicklow with no confirmation of any place.
Other trees show him born Cork.

He married in 1955 and BMD shows a birth from that marriage. This person may still be living so cannot be named.

it is over 2 weeks since you posted and I have seen 3  Byrne family - from Chapel Place - off Chapel Road - can you check if Patrick Byrne born 1935 in Rathnew ,County Wicklow is any connection ??  there are at least 10 Byrne descended from the Rathnew clan in Garston present day - no disrespect but I am not chasing around Garston if you don't answer ??   maybe you have been on holiday ... :)
