Campbells in Tandragee, Armagh
« on: Friday 13 September 19 17:51 BST (UK) »
Hello - I'm trying to find if 2 particular Campbell families were related.
One is Patrick, with a wife, Mary - 1911 Irish Census shows them with their children living in Tandragee.
The other person is James Campbell whose wife was a Lizzie Nugent. They are also showing in the 1911 Census.

I think James's parents were John and his wife, Mary McFarland.
Possibly Patrick's parents were John and his wife Mary McCarland.

I'm wondering if there was a spelling error and these are the same parents to Patrick and James making them brothers?

Many thanks for any help.

Armed with the details from 1911 census...Year Married

you can figure out year they married and search for Marriage Registrations for them allowing a year or so each way and enter them in Year ranges

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp is the website, Certs etc are Free, just fill in the following as per attachment plus years  ...hit Search where you will be asked to solve Captcha and then just use initials and sign in

All part of Irish Gov website......

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

or just use Surname you might get other siblings etc

or tick Deaths to look for Parent's death etc

You are very welcome!

If there are children named on Census 1911 or 1901 you can adjust search accordingly, tick Births etc

It is quite user friendly......  ;D

SOME with Page Numbers don't have Images yet but once knows how to use site one can check back 2 or 3 times a Year to see if updated records have become available or not.

Birth Reg include mother's maiden name so look for that to ensure you get Siblings

Good hunting!

Hi, what makes you think Patrick's/James's mother's name could be McParland, please?

Any info I could receive to solve my little puzzle would be greatly appreciated.
If I can tie up Patrick and Mary in the 1911 Census (at 54 Market Street Tandragee) with James and Lizzie it would take my research to new heights :-)

Thank you to everyone for your quick replies

How many year was Patrick married as per 1911 Census?

Armed with that just put name in, tick Marriages and search allowing a year or two each way...even leaving District blank.... then do same for James and look for one marrying a Nugent

or look for Births for Patrick's 3 children...get Mother's maiden name?? then look for Marriage!
