Based on what you know....their father died by time of Married and would have been reasonably young!

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ocv/  gets you Death results for James nicholson from 1864 to 1880 which up to last week included the District.

One could then look for possibles of correct age in the Districts for Co Cork.... these can be found on   http://www.swilson.info/regdistmap.php  and one Selects Cork from first dropdown box, with Cork being so big there may be about 20 Reg Districts.

If the ones in Link still had District on them it would have helped so for now not much apart from Registers or waiting for update on website!

Thank you for your help Hallmark, the only one could be the death in 1873 James Nicholsonaged in his 40s as Mary was born in 1859,it's so so frustrating as I keep hitting brick walls with this family ,it's just so strange

That is so sad.
Ellen herself was the informant for the deaths of her two young sons in April 1885.  #215,216

Just putting it up for reference-

Up to last week those Deaths had Districts.....

from https://www.swilson.info/regdistmap.php  there are 19 Districts

If James' Death was Registered one could have looked for any showing one of following Districts which as you see would help considerably with what Registers to check.

All you can do is go on a World Cruise and check again when you get back!

Have you checked FamilySearch to see if it is there?
