Chesham marriage: Puddephatt and Barnes 1837
« on: Saturday 14 September 19 15:36 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I've found the following marriage 'event' between Stephen Puddephatt and Sarah Barnes on ancestry but it is a text-only entry. Can anyone find a version with the picture (e.g. on findmypast?) and either send me the picture or transcribe the information?

In particular I'm interested in: name of their fathers, own occupations and occupations of fathers, name of church where married; but other details can often come in useful e.g. witnesses names etc, so please do include if possible!

Name
    Stephen Puddephatt
Gender
    Male
Marriage Date
    04 Jan 1837
Marriage Place
    Chesham, Buckingham, England
Spouse
    Sarah Barnes
FHL Film Number
    1999163
Reference ID
    item 2

Many thanks in advance!
Debs

Welcome to rootschat Debs

Sorry but there is no marriage image on FindMyPast. Marriages prior to 1 July 1837 did not give fathers details.

Please read the guidance notes on requesting lookups on subscription sites https://www.rootschat.com/help/posting_guide.php

The FHL film number that you quote links to this in the library catalogue
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ocx/

Items 1 - 2: Bishop's transcripts for Chesham, 1576-1841 - C of E - Parish Church of Chesham

Items 3 - 4: Bishop's transcripts for Chesham-Bois, 1600-1813 -C of E -  Parish Church of Chesham-Bois

Both parishes are covered on that film number but Chesham Bois does not go up to 1837 so I would assume that it is the Parish Church of Chesham.  If you have an LDS family history centre nearby you may be able to view the film.

Thank you so much - I can't believe I haven't used the GRO indexes before. I've been putting it to very good use over the last couple of days and it's helped me verify lots of other areas of my family tree. Thanks again!!
