Looking for ANY info on Helen Mcgill who married a David Donaldson  18 oct. 1834 in the parish of Yester...all I know is she came from Ireland..born 1814 daughter of William and Mary but where was she BEFORE she married David Donaldson? help! I am stuck as I dont know what part of Ireland they came from!..cheers...Jean

Hi Joe Thanks ANY info would be GREAT!  I am having trouble with this due to Irish records but here is what I have

Helen McGill br. 1814 Ireland married David Donaldson 18 Odt 1834 Gifford Yester East Lothian and they had 9 or 10 children cant find a Christine born about 11 sept 1842 have no idea WHERE in Gifford they were living! something like FRONT STREET?? ha! sounds odd to me! and I dont know WHERE Helen Mc Gill was burried! she died 1887...any help?...Cheers Jean

david...head...age 47...master tailor
helen...wife...age 48...born ireland
john...son...age 20...tailor
william...son...age 16
helen...dau...age 12
alexander...son...age 9
robert...son...age 7

all born gifford unless stated otherwise.

now the problem i have here is that maybe they had twins??? because i have a helen aged 12 but also an ellen aged 12???

Thanks Joe this is GREAT and it WAS FRONT st.!!! weird!

I think I was told Ellen was called Helen after her Mother! so that could be why there was two names!..I HOPE or there is ANOTHER one missing ha! THANKS again for your help Cheers Jean

in the household on the day was helen but in another household on the same day was ellen?

maybe you know the answer!!

Hi Joe..OH DEAR!!! never heard of twins! heard the name  James Kerr before! might be a minister but this is something I will have to look into! I know Robert was at another home under Killin when he was two!! well back to the drawing board! But THANKS for all the info Cheers Jean
