County Home, Monaghan - Reilly
« on: Friday 20 September 19 14:39 BST (UK) »
Looking for info on a couple who were married in the RC Chapel of the Co Home, Monaghan in September 1922.   Wondering if she worked there (she was a domestic servant age 18) or if she was there as perhaps she'd just had a baby (was it also a home for unmarried mothers in 1922)?  On the marriage entry her address is registered as the County Home, Monaghan.  She had a son born in September 1922 but I can't find details of his birth.  Thanks

Hi there - thanks for this.  Yes - done all this, but don't have a copy of Patrick's actual birth cert to verify that this is him / his parents (only the quarter index from Family Search); and was wondering if she was in the County Home working or if she was there as an unmarried mother (as I don't have birth cert, don't know if birth was registered as illegitimate).
cheers
Cath

Hi Cath,

Do you have a birthdate from Patrick (presume he is the child) from later years?

This is a possible birth for Annie Reilly

And if it is her, here is that family in 1911

Thanks again - I've done all that and got this info downloaded already.   His d.o.b. is 23.8.1922
