MISSING Birth Registration.

Hi everyone,

This may be a case of a registration 'disappearing between the cracks'. On the other hand perhaps there has been a misspelling. If so, I have not been able to find it.

So far all I can find is the child born later that year, 14/9/1866:

I think that is another daughter.

NZ Cemetery Records 1800 - 2007

Mary Ann Galbraith.  Died 13 April 1866, aged 14 months, of convulsions.  Resident of Junction.  Born Otago. Lived one year in Province.  Applicant : Jas Galbraith.

Wonder if it is worthwhile getting in touch with the Historical Society or NZSG to see what they have on their records with regards for a birth?

I just thought I would put the cemetery record up, in case another set of eyes can hunt.

Yes that is the wee girl.

All of my other Galbraith BDM registrations are 'tickety boo' but this one, nowhere to be seen!

You don't need to be a member to write to the NZSG asking what information they might have for your family.  I guess the Otago?Dunedin Historical/or Family History Group, they from memory hold some records of settlers.  What have you got to lose?  Sometimes we have to think outside the square box and make it round    Only a suggestion.

I suppose I am fortunate in only having three stumbling blocks/gaps in my family history, this being one of them. I would like to solve these problems before I shuffle off.
