Hood brothers
« on: Saturday 21 September 19 19:39 BST (UK) »
Hi, 2 brothers details of each below of all known facts but when did they die please.

1. Charles Hood born June q 1888 mmn Jones. Married Clarissa Edith Dean 14.08.1910 in Birmingham. His father recorded as Joseph Hood(which is correct) 4 issue from marriage, Edith Lilian 1911, Joseph William 1914, Doris Marjorie 1916-1920 and Ivy Doris 1920 all mmn Dean. In 1928 Clarissa E Hood marries Henry Denny in Lambeth London. Her dob at death recorded as 6.7.1888. Clarissa appears on 1939 war register with Henry and daughter Ivy D Hood dob 3.3.1920, she goes on to marry a Mr Bathurst and dies in 1992. What became of Charles, did he die-no evidence on Freebmd or gro records. Did they divorce, did he re-marry, cannot find him on 1939 register. On daughter Ivy's baptism his name is recorded as Charles Heny Hood

2. Alfred Henry Hood mmn Jones according to 1939 register was born 30th August 1905. He married Marie Marguerite Dowse Sept q  1931in Birmingham. No known issue from this union. Marie re-marries George A Adams in 1945. Did Alfred divorce Marie, did he possibly die in ww2 or did he too go on to remarry. There's a marriage of an Alfred H Hood in Birmingham June q 1945 to a Joan A Challonder-is this him? When did he die or did he go abroad.

Any clues are welcome.

John

Hi, I believe I have found Alfred Henry Hood. His occupation in 1939 was photo engraver. He sailed on the 7.11.1946 occupation photo engraver with a Joan Hood. This is probably the marriage I found in 1945. They went back and forth to Canada until at least 1954. I will now put a post on Canada board to see if rc's there can help further. Please continue if you would looking for charles.
