« on: Monday 23 September 19 06:37 BST (UK) »
What is Ann's surname

I have

Nottingham Girls High School Junior Tennis team 1948
Back Row.  Self, Pat DILLINGHAM, Maurine TICKLE, Doreen ARTHUR
Kneeling. Ann TRAYLEN/Tragen/Trazen   & Olga HURSTHOUSE

Just to add, "Self" is my mother. DOB October 1934.
I've looked in FreeBMD 1933-1935 Ann Tra*  nothing that really springs out

thank you
I think, therefore,  she must be the 1934 Margaret A TRAYLEN birth Basford

thank you Girl Guide.

I think that is correct.

I was just wanting to be sure I had her name correct before I put the photograph in a book for the family for posterity!

I know you weren't asking about this, but I think the last name on the back row could be Noreen Atkin (rather than Doreen Arthur).
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

I think you might be right.
Thank you for that. I hadn’t even doubted myself over that one.
