I have been researching my paternal family, surname Olive and have found many ancestors.  However, I come across a grave stone in the Chatham Burial Ground near the Great Lines.  It has the following inscription:
 SACRED

WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON THE 2nd DAY OF
NOVEMBER 1841 IN THE 31st YEAR OF HIS AGE

ALSO
JOHN OLIVE ESQ. OF H.M. SHIP [ ? ]
AND [ ] SON OF JOHN AND ANN OLIVE
WHO AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS FROM INFLAMMATION
[DIED AT] MELVILLE HOSPITAL [ ] JULY 186[ ]
IN THE [ ] OF HIS AGE, 3O OF WHICH HAD BEEN
DEVOTED [TO] ARDUOUS SERVICE IN THE EAST

[ ]

I can't seem to find those people on any gene sight or an census.
Would really appreciate any information anyone has.

Thanks for all the information.  Does anyone have these people in their family tree?  I'm trying to determine if I am related in any way but I can't find a birth resister or their ancestory.

Martha Olive, born around 1768, Chatham, is in more than 40 trees on Ancestry - so who are your ancestors to connect with her - born around a similar time and place?
