Wilfred Harry Berridge and Emma Wills 1907 and 1908

Sorry. The Berridges were shoemakers according to successive census records and all of the research I've done. I know almost nothing about the Wills connection. That's great information about Emma being a farmer's servant in 1901 at age 13. Thank you! It's sad to think that children so young were forced to work at the beginning of the last century.

If you look at the 1939 Register he is Essex (England) with that Daug born NZ 1912

As 1911 Census was 2 April 1911 and Wilfred was married to Emma how does Walter fit in?

1911 census record I have has Walter (b. Catworth) aged 22, Emma (b. Old Weston) aged 23 and Wilfred Walter (b. Catworth) aged 2 living as boarders with Harry and Amy Boddington. Walter's occupation is agricultural labourer, Boddington's is shoe finisher. The age for Wilfred Walter is incorrect according to information Emma gave to her daughter before she died. Postal address on the document is 13 Oakley (sp?). Rushden.

You need the M/C to Emma.

Interesting. The information I have gives Wilfred's middle name as Harry, so that might be yet another family. I've just ordered a copy of Walter's birth certificate, so that will shed some light on the matter. I've investigated the New Zealand link and it's definitely not our Berridge as there are no links to there from Australia. I'm confident John William is another side of the family.

I'm also going to get the marriage certificate to get the correct information. When I get the certificates I will let you know.
