Hi there welcome,

I would try the local cemetery at Bury Rd Rochdale, or Touchstones as both have the cemetery records on film.  The staff are friendly and helpful.  If you google both you should find some contact email. The only other church I know in Castleton  Rochdale  is St Martins C of E. has a burial ground, because of the date I would try Bury Rd Cemetery.  Hope this helps!

Middleton Cemetery, Boarshaw Road,  is much nearer to 30 Church Street Middleton than Rochdale Cemetery on Bury Road.

Have you got a sub to Ancestry?  If so there is a burial showing up for a Mary Ann Foulds. I entered her name and year of death and it is the first name at the top of the list.

No idea if this is your Mary as I no longer have a sub to Ancestry and cannot check.

Are you local and can pop into Middleton Library to look for an obituary in the Middleton paper?

This may be a short cut for you if all else fails, Oldham MBC have a database of all their cemeteries held at Hollinwood I paid a fee a few years ago for that though,  if you think they have gone that side.

Have you got her husband's burial, maybe same plot?

Is the chapel non conformist you mentioned near William Street something like "Castlemere"
if you post a clip of your cert we can have a go for you!

Just a couple of ideas to keep you going!

You can see the Castlemere Methodist Church on this map https://maps.nls.uk/view/126520772#zoom=5&lat=10540&lon=2040&layers=BT
From the Rochdale Observer May 21st 1864.

No I am not Local I live in Hertfordshire But will be returning back to lancs next year after many years down south . I do have a certificate but it is very faint . I never knew my dads family so I am working back from his birth record .He was Arthur Foulds brn 28 /11 1906 Three Pitts Slattocks he had two sisters Hilda and May . The parents were Mary Ann Foulds nee Lindsay brn 1873/4 Kirkcaldy and George Foulds born Castleton 1874 his parents were John Foulds and Mary Ellis .I have tried all the ancestry web sites and most on line burial records around rochdale but no record of a burial for Mary Ann I put in all the info from her certificate she died of a brain heamorage  on the 8th January at 30 Church Street Middleton the informant was her husband George Foulds I have not been able to get a date for george death there are so many George Foulds so I have appled for some death certs to see if I can find the right one . They married in Castlemere Chapel in 6th February 1896 and could be non conformists

Thank you for your help and information will always be gratefully recieved
