« on: Saturday 28 September 19 00:26 BST (UK) »
Hi There!

You have been so amazing in the past I thpight you may like another mystery to help me solve. His name is Jeremiah Brown.

Jeremiah has no parents and I need some help finding them, please. ;D This is what I know of him so far;

Jeremiah Brown was born at Llanidloes in Wales in 1802, Jeremiah had enlisted in the 4th Regiment of Foot; had married Mary Burns in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1828 and they were sent out to Van Diemen's Land in 1831 on the ship "Larkins". Jeremiah was with the 4th. Regiment of Foot and one of the guards of the convicts on board.

They had 12 children in 28 years.
1. Mary Brown (1830-1913) never married
2. George Brown (1832-1923) m. Mary Ann Garrard (1833 - 1891)
3. Ellen Brown (1834-1879) m. 1. Thomas BYFORD 1830 - 1854 2. Thomas West DUGDALE 1830 - 1899
4. Benjamin Brown 1837 1878 m. Sarah TEECE 1842 - 1884
5. Grace Brown 1839 1931 m. Robert Cooper WALKER 1833 - 1897
6. Albert Brown 1841 1924 m. Mary Grace SHARE 1843 - 1926
7. Adelaide Brown 1843 1926 m. Henry Edward DENGATE 1841 - 1923
8. Emily Janet Brown 1846 1910 m. William LONGLEY 1841 - 1927
9. Robert Alexander Brown 1849 1911 m. Sarah Jane BUTTSWORTH 1850 - 1941
10. Frederick Wesley BROWN 1851 1935 m. Kate Milner EATHER 1864 - 1941
11. Sydney William Thomas Brown 1854 1934 m. Katherine LAW 1853 - 1913
12. Ann Eva Jessie Brown 1856 1938 m. Thomas West DUGDALE J.P. 1830 - 1899

In 1851, when the 10th child, Frederick Wesley was born, Jeremiah was Assistant Superintendent of convicts on Cockatoo Island.

Jeremiah died in Surrey Hills, Sydney on 18 December 1860 at the age of 58.
Mary died at Taree in New South Wales on the 8 May 1905; she was 96.

Any ideas would be of ginormous help and most appreciated.

Thank you

Hi

Jeremiah was illegitimate but luckily the baptism in Llanidloes gives both parents names

He was baptised 31 October 1802, his father was of the parish and was called William BROWN , his mother also of the parish was called Ann OWEN.

EDIT - it was just a transcription of the actual baptism register and found on FindMyPast
