Hi im new to this site... I wonder if someone could help...
Looking for a marriage between Henry Townsend B1820 Stratton Gloucestershire and a Maria Bailey 1800 not sure if her DOB is correct...They had a son George born 1847 Kensington London England.
Would be grateful for any help.

Welcome to Rootschat Sarah.

I agree Marias maiden name was Bailey re Georges Birth Reg;

TOWNSEND, GEORGE, Mothers mn BAILEY***
GRO Reference: 1846  J Quarter in KENSINGTON, PADDINGTON AND FULHAM  Volume 03  Page 325

Do you have Georges actual Birth Cert?

Maria may have been a Widow when she married Henry and her maiden name was Bailey.

Trish :)

On the 1851 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGT6-W21

Is it possible they aren’t her children?

I really think Maria's age is "out" on the 1851.

There are 2 more children who seem to be born to the same couple:
Alice in 1851
and TOWNSEND, ELIZA    mmn     BAILEY
1853  J Quarter in KENSINGTON PADDINGTON AND FULHAM  Volume 01A  Page 66

There's a death/burial for a 16 month old Eiiza Aug 31,1854 Holy Trinity, Brompton , Kensington and Chelsea and also one for Maria TOWNSEND age 34 -23 Jul 1854. Both have an address of Camden St. Kensington.

Where is Henry in 1861?

Maureen

Was just going to post the same information Maureen plus I think that the child Harry may also have died in 1852.
