The Tyler family in Billingborough, Lincolnshire
« on: Tuesday 01 October 19 20:15 BST (UK) »
So I am researching my family tree in order to see where I get my last name from. I would also be interested in finding if I have any different ethnicities within my family. I’m researching the Tyler’s and it seems to go in this order: Christopher Joseph Tyler - Hardy Tyler - William Tyler - Holderness Tyler - William Tyler - William Tyler and I’m stuck at the last William Tyler. If anyone knows anything at all about any of these people please contact me. I believe Holderness had a cordwainers shop on Billingborough high street.

Did Holderness have a middle name??

There is a birth reg Holderness Franks Tyler son of William and Tryphena baptised 18 Oct 1801 Billingborough
and death Holderness Franks Tyler (b.1801) 14 May 1864 Billingborough

It seems Holderness Franks Tyler had a brother Nightingale Tylerbaptised 10 Jun 1800 Billingborough
Nightingale was a cordwainer on High St Billingborough and employed 1 man
Nightingale's marriage to Martha Wardell was registered Jun qtr 1841ref 14 399
Purchase of this certificate would give father's name and occupation and sometimes witnesses are related too

Nightingal's father was William a Grocer and Martha's father also William a Farmer.
Witnesses to the ma on 15th June 1841 were John Gray and George Walton - he appears on many marriage documents so must be a church warden or similar.
Hope this helps.

Liam, Hi. This seems to be the gravestone of the Holderness Tyler born 1801. It seems he may be descended from three Williams.

Possible:-

William Tyler married Ann Chapman on 9th June 1742 in Osbournby. Numerous children.

Nearest baptism - William, son of William, on 24th October 1723 in Sleaford, six miles away.

William Tyler married Elizabeth Wells on 30th November 1721 in Sleaford.

Hi , I am related to the tyler family William Tyler and Mary Sutton are my 6th great grand parents , their son William Tyler my 5th great grandad married Tryphena Frank's. Their daughter Ann Tyler married William Worth , their son William Worth is Charles Frederick Worths dad . Houlderness well I think Tryphena Frank's mum was Mary Houlderness and that's where the Houlderness comes in to names they used 3 surnames probably to keep the names in the family. The family are from Bourne, Billingborough and there is quiet a few of them .

I spent quite a bit of time around 2005 looking at the TYLERs in Billingborough and was intrigued by the names Tryphena and Tryphosa but couldn't connect them with my lot.

My TYLERs seem to have appeared in Timberland c1779, not from Billingborough but possibly from Exton in Rutland.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
