You are on track with Georges Baptism, on FreeREG he is George SPRINGLE
Note on Bapt; Private. Entry Says Father Alias G. Rounce

On George/Charitys Marriage;
She signed X. He signed as Springall. Duplicate record as George Springall was alias George Rounce.

George was likely born before his Parents Marriage;

John SPRINGAL/Mary ROUNCE 28 Apr 1794 St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth

Sorry if you already have this.

Trish :)

No, I don't have this and am a bit confused.  So far, I have George Rounce Springall (1812 - 1859) who married Ann Elizabeth Wright (previously thought to be Bright).  George's parents were George Rounce Springall (1791 - 1848) who married Charity Boyce (1792 - 1851) on 1st January 1812.  I can't see an image for this on Ancestry.  I've also got a record of a Mary Ann Springall baptised in 1817 with parents George Springall alias Rounce.

I don't know what a 'Private' baptism would be - not done during the usual Sunday service?  Would a private baptism be for an illigitimate child?

And you think George Rounce Springall (1791 - 1848) was the son of John Springall and Mary Rounce who married on 28th April 1794?

If it was thought that the baby might not survive there was often a Private Baptism held in the home. If the child did survive they were sometimes baptised again in church.

I though it strange they were in Surrey 1841 Census but by 1848 back in Norfolk where George was buried 19 Nov 1848
1851 Charity is back in Middlesex with Samuel/James

George Springett 40 Occp Smith
Charity Springett 45
Willm Springett   20
Robert Springett 15
Edward Springett 15
Charles Springett 11
Samuel Springett 9
James Springett   6

This appears to be Charitys Death Reg;
SPRINGALL, CHARITY  age    65****
GRO Reference: 1857  S Quarter in POPLAR UNION  Volume 01C  Page 395
So born c 1792**

Which leads to a Baptism of Charity BOYSE 14 Jun 1792 Great Yarmouth to JOHN/MARY Boyce
( Mary nee WOODROW)

A MARY ANN Boyce was a witness to the 1812 Marriage of George and Charity

Charity had siblings;
MARY ANN 1784***
JOHN 1786
EDWARD 1789
ELIZABETH 1795
JOHN 1796
JOSEPH CLIM 1799 (from other info may be Joseph Clement Boyce)
WILLIAM 1802
All except Mary Ann have Mothers maiden name as Woodrow

Ok, good confirmation;
Charity/George Springall were witnesses to Mary Ann Boyces Marriage 24 Dec 1815 to James AYRES
So Sisters witnessed one anothers Marriages.

Trish :)

I think the Marriage may have been hard to read and mistranscribed;
John BOGS/Mary WOODROW 20 Oct 1783 (Bachelor/Spinster)

Crikey!  I am amazed - and very grateful for your time.  You have saved me so much time on research.  I enjoy research but my real passion is to write the biographies because I think the people are so much more than names and dates and I like to tell their story.  Your help here has really put me on track for more generations than I anticipated finding.

Thank you!

Your very welcome :)

I agree with you I like to find what our Ancestors did.where they lived and try and flesh out their lives!

Trish
(in Sydney)

EDIT;
On Census Joseph Clim (Clement) Boyse/Boyce seems to go under Clement in Census.
He died 1855 as Clement.

Now I think this leads back another generation which you can look at for yourself on FreeREG.
Marriage,
Caister,  5 Oct 1742
Charity DEAN
Clement BOYCE

Clement/Charity Bapt a Son JOHN 20 Jan 1760 Great Yarmouth

So likely the John who married Mary Woodrow 1783

John SPRINGALL (1770 - 1819) baptised 21st January 1770 in Corton to John SPRINGALL (1736 - 1812) and Mary GOFFEN (1735 - 1802).

John SPRINGALL (1736 - 1812) married Mary GOFFEN (1735 - 1802) in Blundeston, Suffolk on 16th October 1760.

John SPRINGALL baptised 21st March 1736 in Blundeston, Suffolk to John SPRINGALL (1708 - 1770) and Elizabeth BOLLARD (1711 - 1763).

John SPRINGALL (1708 - 1770) married Elizabeth BOLLARD (1711 - 1763) in Blundeston, Suffolk on 22nd September 1733.

John SPRINGALL (1708 - 1770) - father was Robert SPRINGALL, mother Letitia THROWER from the research I have so far.

Kind Regards
Paul
