I wonder if she married twice?

There is an Eliza Davis, a minor - marrying a George Arnold Arnold (jun) in St Pancras on 24 December 1851 -- her father is William Davis, Carpenter. (George junior's father was also George Arnold Arnold!)

It's a coincidence.

I haven't checked this further yet -- it's just a coincidence at the moment.

Old Cleeve Parish registers

Cannot spot an Eliza Davis that fits an 1830 or thereabouts baptism.

Thanks for your replies.

I can't pin Eliza Ridley on the 1851 Census for sure, either.

1901 Census:  Bristol  Lots of transcription errors on this one!
Hy Robt Clarks  Head 67 born 1834 North Petherton, Somerset
Wm Davis 49 Nephew born Old Cleeve, Somerset
Lydia Davis 48 born 1853 Blagdon, Somerset
Eliza Mary Davis 22     all children were born in  Bristol
Sarah Jane Davis 20 MY Grandma
Doya Davis 18
Thomas Davis 17
Nelly Davis 16
Rosa Davis 13
Alice Davis 11
Bertie Davis 9
Sidney Davis 7
Richard Davis 4
May Davis 2
Violet Davis  6 mths

So according to this census, William Davis is a nephew of Henry Robert Clake..but I’m damned if I can find the connection.

Maybe one of my other William Davis' ancestors'  daughter had a daughter Eliza Davis born out of wed lock?

Just checking that the Davis family (1901 census above) is this marriage:
Marriages June quarter 1876
 Lydia Board
 William  Davis   Bristol

'So according to this census, William Davis is a nephew of Henry Robert Clake..but I’m damned if I can find the connection.'

No, Lydia could be his niece, or even a further relationship, and they were using the term nephew rather loosely.

What were the Father's names from that marriage in 1876?

Added:
Lydia Board is in almost 40 ancestry trees, have none of them sorted out the Davis connection correctly?

William Davis in that census is 'Willian Escott Davis' - his mother being Sarah Escott, and his father William Davis 1816/1819 Old Cleeve.
