No, it is not easier & it is much cheaper. By the way, Alice Edith Angus died, aged 9, in 1886.  The information I have given you is all available on scotlandspeople. the searches were free. You only have to pay for viewing the actual records.

Ok so she definitely isn’t my grandma.  Oh well, worth a look.  Again many thanks for all this hard work. I take it you have been doing all of this for years. I tend to dip in and out every now and then when I have spare time.

Yes I wondered if they would take 8 or 9 months to register a child. Who knows, life must have been very different back in those days.

Born end of the year i.e. would have been registered in the new year 1877 (which is normal practice) & the date of registration will be on the BC too as well as the above date of birth.
