Her father was noted as Deceased at the time of her marriage.

The occ. is usually stated in the very last column, even if father is deceased (at least in my case)?

Annie, I will have another look on the certificate,
I have checked the 1939 register. I have her with her husband in Bristol. Her birthdate is given as 1 Aug 1877.
Thanks.

1877 Census shows her as a border living at 53 East North Street, St Nicholas, Aberdeen, with Jane Munro (62yrs), Jane Munro (19yrs) and Maggie Munro (9yrs) also a border.  I can trace Jane Munro back a few Census but not 1841,

Sorry to point out your typo but which census was this (no 77 census) & how old was she?

What were the names of her children in order which may be a clue to something?

The birth I found, I have found the family living in St. Nicholas, will post shortly when I've transcribed it, just as a note in case needed later as the PoB borders Old Machar i.e. a short walk.

Apologies Annie, yes it should read 1881 Census and she was shown as 3yrs old. That would tally with the census being early in the year before her 4th birthday.
Alice’s children were Walter, Robert, Ada and Rose.  Thanks.

This is 1881 (for the moment) for the ANGUS family;

Vol 168-1 ED 14 Pg 4

62 Loch Street, St. Nicholas, Aberdeen

William ANGUS Head M 37 Cab Driver b Laurencekirk, Kincardine, Scotland
Emily Wife 39 b Welwin (Welwyn), England
William Andrew Son 12 b "
George Edward Son 10 b London, England
Ada Emily Dau 8 b Marleborough, England
Alice Edith Dau 3 b Aberdeen
Edwin James 5 m b "

It seems a bit of a coincidence to me as the names Alice & Edith aren't exactly common paired up & in the same area  :-\

I haven't traced them after 1881 to find out where they are & if Alice Edith disappears.

Ah, that is a possibility even though the Dad’s name doesn’t match.  I will keep it in mind as a possible.  Thanks for doing all of this. I appreciate it.

I went on scotlandspeople & did a search for an Alice, registered in 1877, in St.Nicholas. There were only 4, one of which was an Alice Stuart. you will be able to view this online & it should give you details of her parents.

Brilliant, thanks.  I wish Scotland’s People used an annual membership fee like the others, it is so much easier.
