Greetings, and a warm welcome to Rootschat.

For the benefit of Rootschatters helping, FreeREG has the marriage:
George VEITCH to Isbel WINDRUM, 24 Nov 1786, Berwick-Upon-Tweed : Golden Square Scotch Church United Secession Presbyterian, both of the parish, married at Lamerton in Scotland by Jno BLACKHALL, Minr.

A quick search for VEITCH in Northumberland didn't turn up anything relevant, so I wonder if either George or Isbel originated from Lamerton (Lamberton, Berwickshire?).  The hunt is on!

Philip

ADDED:

Children baptised at the Golden Square Scotch Church were:
Janet 9 Oct 1787 (Claribut Mill, Parish of Hutton, Scotland)
Robert b 10 Sep bap 29 Sep 1789 (Clarifemill , Parish of Hutton)
Alison b 20 Apr bap 6 May 1792 (Eastern Lane, Berwick)
Margaret b 20 Mar 1796 (Claribel Mill, Parish of Hutton In Berwickshire, Scotland)

There are two infants baptised in the same church from 1811 to 1818 with parents Robert VEITCH and Alison - who may be related to George.

Genuki https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/NBL/Berwick/ChurchRecords states that birth registers for Golden Square exist from 1771 - probably too late for George.  There are records for Berwick High Meeting Presbyterian from 1761 onwards which may be worth checking.

There are umpteen online trees that state that the Robert Veitch, son of George and Isabel, was married to a Jane/Jean Wait in 1809, so think you need to do some more investigation on this to determine who the 2 Roberts were and the parents of both and then figure out which one is yours.

Just seen that the one born Hutton (son of George and Isabel) was indeed married to a Jane/Janet and living in Swinton, Berwickshire in 1851 i.e. not died in 1848!

I wondered about that one - it is certainly in the right area and time frame.

It would be interesting to know (if impossible to find!) how large the Golden Square congregation was.  FamilySearch has baptisms for
children of George WINRAM and Betty (Elizabeth) 1783-1792
children of George VEITCH and Isabel 1787-1796
children of Robert VEITCH and Alison 1811-1818

If these are related, it seems that Presbyterian records should be the starting point (although other denominations can not be excluded)

Philip.

ADDED - FamilySearch has a baptism:
George son of John VEACH 2 Mar 1758 Presbyterian, Warenford, Northumberland.
(the AA Route Planner puts Warenford 18 miles south of Berwick)
