Kearney Family of Arklow
« on: Friday 04 October 19 15:42 BST (UK) »
I have recently discovered a connection through my Dublin Kearney family to earlier Kearney ancestors hailing from Arklow (most likely the central urban area of the town).

My Dublin Kearney line is very well researched.  All seafarers ..... and there are literally dozes of mariners in the family ....... so I can see how they might originally hail from the seafaring area of Arklow.

My great-great grandfather was Mark Kearney (a sailor, of course) who seemed to be the first one to settle in Dublin; numerous old Irish ship's crew list records always show him as having been born in Arklow.

Just interested to know if anyone else might be related to any Kearneys of Arklow?  I'd love to know more about how my family might fit into theirs.

Regards

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Hallmark, thank you very much for the link. Yes, the family were RC.  I'll have a good look through!
