Thank you so much for this - I'd really like to get back a few generations but not sure that will be possible haha.

I also know that James O'Brien died when his son was young - would it be possible to find a death certificate please?

If you work on father being born 1885/90 era...

C Reg Death results for John OBrien of Limerick from 1911 to ?

Link http://www.rootschat.com/links/01oh2/

you need to solve Captcha and use initials to sign in.  Certs are Free

It is Irish Govt website.... no sub needed.

If you have your eye on a Census family you can search for their Marriages on

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

or just  OBrien, Limerick  tick Marriage box and use Year ranges  (or Tralee)

The handiest way once you use Link, solve Captcha etc is the Right click on any possibles and Open in New Tab

If you want Tralee just alter Search criteria and Search

Thank you hallmark, I did use that site and got back c 1870 but it is so confusing with the repetition of names and the locations etc.

Also, which 1911 census do you think is correct?  I'm suspecting the one in Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, as they had a son Francis born c 1892, so a witness at the 1934 wedding perhaps?
