looking for info on Andrew Gillespie father of my great great grandmother jane who settled in Glasgow .Andrew married mary smith they had 8 children .I believe Andrew was a blacksmith.

Jane was born in denny 1842 .mary smith wife of Andrew was born in1792.

As your post refers to Andrew Gillespie can you please post what you know from certs & census records with dates/places/ages to save duplication of effort?

Is there a reason this is on the Sutherland board rather than the Stirling?

According to the 1851 census Andrew was born in Denny age 57 and Mary was born Kilpatrick age 50

There's a birth of an Andrew Gillespie in 1793 son of William and Janet nee Wilson that could fit

I think its correct that his parents were William and janet still wondering if he was the town blacksmith though . I meant to post this in Stirlingshire in the hope some of the family have photos or info about his work.

Andrew was a blacksmith in the census unless you are looking for his father's occupation then this maybe listed on the baptism record of one of his children or his marriage if that record survives
Added the marriage was 1792 in Denny
