I wonder whether anyone can help me to break a wall?
My Clements family research starts in 1692, when Martin and Mary Clements appear in Fulbourn, near Cambridge. The first event is the baptism of son John Clements (Clemance) in 1692.
Five further sons are baptised at All Saints church, Fulbourn, as follows:
Robard Clemants (presumably Robert), baptised 24 May 1696
William Clements, baptised 9 April 1699
Richard Clemence, baptised 14 May 1701
Benjamin Clements, baptised 11 February 1704
Joseph Clements, baptised 7 December 1707
Unfortunately, the parents (Martin and Mary) are a mystery. I have not been able to find either Martin Clements' birth, or a marriage between Martin Clements and Mary. I've been looking for Clem* given the fluid spelling at the time.
I've tried looking further afield from Fulbourn but so far without luck. If anyone has any ideas where I might be able to look, I would be thrilled to hear them.
