I was squinting at Marine/Catherine last night and didn't get any further!

Nice finds Glen.

Hello all who have helped me.    The wife of David Edwards now established as Elizabeth Thomas,
  Married in 1864 at Carmarthen.
My urgent need is for the birth/baptism of David Edwards,   There are over 25 Davids born between 1840 and 1846, ( this latter one the latest reasonable date to marry in 1864).

The 1871,81 and 91 censuses all show him born in 1847, surely to late for a marriage in 1864.
Any suggestions here would be appreciated.
Footnote -  I am 82 years old so forgive ongoing cries for help.   best regards, Terry.

Hi Terry,
Can I ask how you are sure the 1864 marriage in Carmarthen is the right one?

Glen

Glen,
Using FREEBMD, I selected ALL Welsh counties for David Edwards and Elizabeth Thomas,
(also Eliza), between 1860 and 1866 and the only one to show was that one.
Cannot be after 1867 as that is the year Catherine was born. 1871 as 'Charine' b: 1867 and 1881 as ' Catherine', b: 1866.
I have not accepted this as gospel yet, Just gathering possibles.
This my first sortie into Wales and it is a nightmare.   But many thanks for your continued interest.
you will not overload me.    My main target is the birth of David.    Terry

Hi Annette, you posted me details of Seth Edwards birth details showing mmn from the
GRO, I use Freebmd which only shows mmn details after 1912.

Can you tell me where you got your info from please ?  I would to like to see if there is
any mmn details for David Edwards b: 1847 Merthyr Tidfyl.    Thank you,  Terry

Why would a couple both from Merthyr Tydfil get married in the Carmarthen registration district? David would have been very young. The parish register for the 1864 marriage is online and that David was 27, a mariner and married Elizabeth Harries.

I suspect Catherine was born to Elizabeth before the marriage and might not be David's daughter. Haven't spotted a likely registration for Catherine Edwards or Thomas.
More likely marriage is dec qtr 1869 Merthyr Tydfil vol 11a pg 623. The 1869 marriage isn't online. It may not have been in a parish church or in one where the records aren't online.
