As you're on the Beginners Board, when relating to place names in Scotland it's always best to include the County which in this case is Aberdeen as there are a few places named Cluny in different areas.

I think maybe 1911  644/7 21/ 17 Possilpark (Glasgow) Lanark?

Alexander 40
Margaret 37
Alexander 15
Christina 8
John 3

No sign of Isabella but 1911 gives info. on how many children born/living/died.

Alexander Gilchrist never made it to Canada - he died 20/2/1912 Possilpark.   Death certificate confirms his parents names BUT his wife is Margaret Cruickshank.   Birth certificate of dau. Isabella Elder McNeill Gilchrist also confirms mothers name as Margaret Cruickshank - supposedly married 15/1/1896 Aberdeen but I couldn't find marriage entry - eventually found it as Alexandr. Gilchrist and Maggie Cruickshank 1896 Old Deer.   This begs the question 'where did the name Margaret Ann Cameron come from'?

Thanks Annette, was going through deaths to see what I could find as we didn't know who actually emigrated i.e. was Margaret Ann Cameron the wife of Alexander Jnr?
