The Milke family of Lipno, Pomerania, Poland
« on: Friday 11 October 19 08:10 BST (UK) »
If anyone can help. I am trying to trace the family of Alfred Milke, born 1927 Lipno. He came to this country after the war and married in Bath in 1947. He died in 2013. His father was Frederick Milk a farmer from Lipno. His English family are interested in his roots. Alfred attended a Communists farming school after the war they have his certificates.

Alfred Milke married in 1949 in Bath - to E M Newman - may still be alive so won't post full name .

can I ask - I would be surprised if he was baptised in Poland in 1927 as ALFRED ?   I am presuming that was his Anglecised name - have you ever heard of Alfred being called another name ? -Aleksander FOR EXAMPLE ?

a shot in the dark - the only record anything like what you are researching -
could the dad Frederick ( again an Anglicised version ? ) be a possible for this 1921 marriage record ?

As to roots, Poland was province of Russian Empire prior to 1918. His family was most likely Roman Catholic. Evidently, he was still in Soviet Poland post 1945.

This is interesting and informative.
