Criminal Records - Reeves

Hi
I am trying to research if one of my family had served prison time for murder.
His name was Joseph Walter Reeves b1909.
He appears to have disappeared from the family around the late 1940's early 1950s
He originated from Gloucestershire.
As a teenager he had a number of petty crimes reported in the Newspapers.

I know of another relative Wilfred Joseph Goodhall Reeves b1910 who was definitely found guilty of a murder and sentenced to Life in Prison.

Joseph Walter would have been the Uncle of Wilfred and they both appeared on the same 1911 Census

Any help with Joseph Walter Reeves greatly appreciated.

He is in several family trees on Ancestry.

There is a suggested marriage:
(Combined freebmd entry as one has 139 and the other 739)
December quarter 1947
 Joseph W Reeves   Sellwood   Cirencester   7b  139
 Irene S  Sellwood   Reeves   Cirencester  7b  739

a death in 1980 is also proposed - I have not yet found a likely one.

I think the proposed death is for a Joseph Reeves born in 6th March 1909 dies in Bristol.

So, the middle name is not recorded.
Also, several trees have a proposed 1939 entry for 'your' Joseph Walter', the date of birth does not match.

For the proposed marriage in 1947:
removed

the only birth I can see for the proposed wife is in 1929, cannot see a death, so she might be alive, and be 20 years younger than him.

I can see 2 (or 3) births for the proposed marriage, and have found a tree on Ancestry with the family in more detail, but with those 2 children and mother private, so probably alive. 
Both children appear to marry in this country.
The tree does not know when Joseph Walter died, so perhaps he did go abroad without them?

Also, just realised you are the tree owner - would have been useful if you had put the probable marriage etc.

Perhaps he just changed his name and did a runner?

My enquiry was purely about any criminal activity.

I tend to agree his is NOT the death in Bristol 1980.

Yes the marriage to Sellwood in my Joseph W in question.
His wife appears to be living on her own n Electoral Rolls from about 1950
Their youngest child was born in 1950
