Firstly, what sort of information are you looking for? For example, are you looking to trace his family back further? If so:
Do you know where John was born?
Do you know where Jane was born? Couples usually married in the bride’s parish so if you are looking for their marriage you might find it there.
Can you give us the names of the six children, and their dates and places of birth?
Assuming they came from the UK, do you have the family on any census, or do you need help finding them?
I don’t know anything about NZ death certificates, but am wondering if John and Jane’s death certificates give the names of their parents?
