Immigration or Passport photo ?
« on: Monday 21 October 19 12:53 BST (UK) »
Hello , I wondered what the chances are of seeing an Immigration or Passport photo of an ancestor of mine who went to Sedalia , Missouri in the late 1870's  , She was Mary Ann Nott and her husband Elias Nott ? Fingers crossed .
Regards
Alan

Appearing in the 24 Sep 1899 Sunday paper of the Sedalia Democrat, notice that Elias Nott, a native of Devonshire, Eng, and a resident of the city for the last 20 years, has been granted his first papers for naturalization by County Clerk Longan.

This at least gives you a date from which to search.

I haven't seen any photos on naturalization papers in that era.  He would only have needed a passport if he left the country after his naturalization.  Do you have reason to believe that he visited England after circa 1900?
