Mary nee Hayes or Mahoney
« on: Thursday 24 October 19 02:18 BST (UK) »
Hi There,
I'm trying to find out where William Sullivan B 1770-1780 Ireland - 1860 Austral Eden, Macleay River wife is from and what more about her.

This is the information i have so far from Les Sullivan
The only details of his wife are in the 1822 NSW Census where his wife is recorded as Mary (nee Hayes).  On the 1879 Death Certificate of his son William jnr  it is recorded by William jnr’s son,   John George, that his parents were William and Mary (Hayes).  When William jnr registered his father’s death in 1860 he did not know his mother’s maiden name. In his youngest  son  John’s Birth Certificate, however, his parents are shown as William and Mary (Mahoney). There are several William, Mary Sullivans with sons named John born around 1824 in the BDM  Registers which confuses the issue. (See later reference to Catherine and John Sullivan). On her daughter Margaret’s Death Certificate her mother Mary is recorded as born in 1783. (Sephi Kemp research)

All information would be greatly appreciated
