'Jeep' as a nickname

Is 'Jeep' used as a nickname in Canada?

I have never heard the word Jeep used as a nickname in Canada.   Have you found someone with that name?   People sometimes say "Jeepers" as an expression...and, of course, Jeep is a type/brand of vehicle.

I've never heard of it either. Having said that, I have heard some very 'different' nicknames, so
I guess anything is possible.

I am trying to find my family connection to someone who shows her paternal grandfather as Jeep Groves with no other details, and I wondered if Jeep was short for something or a common nickname.

Whereabouts did this person show her grandfather as “Jeep”? For example was it taken from an official record or certificate, from an online tree, or somewhere else?

Is that the only one reference to him with the name “Jeep”?

Could you contact her and ask her if she knows what his real name is?

The only reference is as a name in her tree which she has online at a couple of places. It does not include any more details about him or any details of his wife.

I made contact some time ago but that was not fruitful.

Sean has given me a good clue to work with.
