William O'Connor

Trying to find the Parents of William O'Connor, born 1830, Ballykelly, Ireland. Died 1867, West Derby, Lancashire. Seem to be at a dead-end searching Irish records. looked at other family trees and they seem to stop at the same point. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in anticipation.

You would need to decide on which Ballykelly first.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Did he marry? If so, what was his father’s name on the certificate?

As pointed out earlier there are lots of places in Ireland called Ballykelly. There's even Ballynacally in Aghadowey Parish (County Londonderry) sometimes written as Ballykelly and there could be other variants.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There is a published tree - scant information with the following details.

William O’Connor 1830 Ballykelly. There is no support in the tree for this.

Philip Fitzgibbon O’Connor 1854 b Liverpool  GRO has Fitzgibbon mmn McGarry

St Peter’s Priory
Dora’s baptism shows a sponsor Bernard McGarry
Fitzgibbon has a sponsor Margaret McGarry

It looks as though Catherine is McGarry and not Gallagher as the tree shows.
