Hollyville, Wexford.

Please can anyone help me with the location of Hollyville? Is it the same as is now Hollyville Heights? In the 1830s and perhaps earlier until the mid-1840s a family named Fitzgerald (Nicholas and Dorothea with daughters Dorothea and Sarah Frances) lived there, but I am confused as a newspaper reports Dorothea Senior's death as at Camolin. Is there also a Hollyville there, or had she moved there to be nursed?

Any help much appreciated.

On the old maps there is a Hollyville where Hollyville Court is today in Wexford town.
I can't see any Hollyville around Camolin, doesn't mean there wasn't/isn't one there I just can't see it.

I haven’t looked up the place, but could she have died at her daughter/s residence?

Thank you all. I wasn't expecting quite so many replies quite so quickly! My faith in my fellow humans has just been boosted.

I think it must be the Hollyville in Wexford and that she must have died at Camolin for reasons that I don't know. It has always been a mystery why they lived in Wexford as the family is normally associated to other parts of the country.

Again many thanks. Nicholas had a short career in the army and then left due to ill health in 1803, and from before that he seems to have been fairly permanently short of money. The first I know of him is that he was at a place called Rathlee in Co. Sligo in 1787 but he was probably aged about 26 or older by that time and there seems to be no trace of him before that date. I don't rule out that he might have been born outside Ireland, sometimes I wonder if he might have begun his life in America and perhaps had some military experience there before coming to Ireland.

His younger daughter was quite involved with Irish Home Rule politics in the late 19th Century and actively supported the cause.
