National Probate Calendar
« on: Sunday 27 October 19 17:09 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone provide assistance please?

I have found my great great grandfather on the National Probate Calendar and would like to apply for a copy of the will. He was Jean Jacques Tirard of 72 Rue Blanche, Paris who died 20 April 1902..........presumably in Paris as he doesn't appear on the UK death registers. He must have had UK property for probate to be in the UK.

Where can I get a copy and how much does it cost?

Thank you so much. Can you tell me what I can expect to get from the Administration? I was hoping to get a full will, but obviously not.

Letters of Administration are issued to the persons entitled under the rules of intestacy if the deceased died without a Will.   I believe they just name the person who has applied to administer the estate.

Thanks. I just followed the link in your first post and it states: Search for the will or probate of any person in the UK who died in or after 1996.

Jean Jacques Tirard died in Paris - so no results found. Any ideas?

http://archives.paris.fr/r/124/etat-civil-de-paris/

I can find him in the decennial tables.
Jean Jacques Tirard, 20 Avril 1902
Arrondissement 09
Décès, 1893-1902, Rouzaire to Van - Mael
Image 16 of 21

But in the Actes d'état civil for Arrondissement 09, Décès
22 mars 1902 (acte n° 429) to 9 mai 1902 (acte n° 657)

I cannot find him! Also looked in some of the next lot.
Either he's not there, or I am doing something wrong!

There have been quite a few problems with the delivery times since they reduced the charge from £10 to £1.50 so don't be surprised if it does not appear when you expect it.
