CastletownKilpatrick
« on: Monday 28 October 19 18:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello !

I have a mother and father who lived and died in the Gravelmount section of CastletownKilpatrick and a possible adult unmarried son and daughter who lived and died in the Ladyrath section of CastletownKilpatrick.  I desperately want them to be the same family.  Are these two sections close geographically?

Thank you for your time.

Barbara

Don't quite understand the question, when you say section of Castletown Kilpatrick do you mean you have found them in the parish register and this is their residence at the time?

I can't find Gravelmount but Ladyrath is a townland, it's listed under RC parish of Rathkenny but people there may have use a church in Castletown Kilpatrick if it was closer.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

According to Googlemaps Gravelmount and Ladyrath are just short of 5km/3 miles from each other.

As for burial records, RC parishes weren't much good at keeping burial records see here (near the bottom)
