!800's Passenger Lists to America
« on: Friday 01 November 19 19:18 GMT (UK) »
Hello Trying to find the record of my 4GGF James Wilkins' migration to Pensacola, Escambia,Florida.  He was born in Great Ellingham, Norfolk, baptised on 24th March 1805 to Edward Wilkins and Mary Carley.  He married Phillippa Sebastian Dominguez (1810-1892)  on 8 September 1829.  1840 Florida Census shows him as living in Pensacola.  He died 7 October 1851  His headstone says he was 52 years old when he died so birth would be 1799.  Thanks

Sadly there are very few passenger lists available for that time frame.  Sometimes rely on other printed sources such as published lists of immigrants' names taken from newspapers, naturalization oaths, indenture lists, headright grants, and other records if they are available.

You may like to change the century in the thread heading from !800's to 1800's. Definitely no passenger lists in the ninth century.  :)

Exclamation mark instead of a 1 but I think most people would have read it as 1800  :)
