Think you have the wrong James Flanders!
A James Flanders and wife Mary had - at least - the following children:
Phoebe bp.18/7/1819 Houghton/Holywell-cum-Needingworth (same baptism shown 2 places?)
Ann bp.29/9/1822 Abbots-Ripton, Hunts.
Charlotte bp.10/7/1831 Houghton
Margaret bp.15/6/1834 Houghton
William bp.23/7/1837 Houghton
So, although baptised elsewhere Ann's family were living in Houghton and no doubt she herself believed she was born there too.
In 1841 in Houghton there is no James but Mary there with daus. Pheby, Charlotte and son William. In 1851 Mary clearly shown as a widow.
Cannot find a likely burial entry for James Flanders nor a marriage to a Mary. However, census shows Mary bc.1792 Witton, Hunts. and there is a baptism of a James Flanders 14/7/1793 Abbots-Ripton (together with a Joseph) sons of Daniel and Ann. Since mother is Ann perhaps this is why his own daughter Ann was baptised in his own parish rather than Houghton.
Mary Flanders was buried Houghton 7/2/1871. Age a bit off but wonder in the absence of a burial for James Flanders in Huntingdonshire if he is the one convicted of sheep stealing on 2/1/1837 Huntingdonshsire (aged 40?) and sentenced to transportation for life arriving in Australia later that year.
